An Addendum to the “Darker Side” Post

A few days ago I discussed the downward pressure that desperate workers — intentionally made desperate as a matter of policy and design, I would argue — will put on the quality of the labor market.   Take a look at who hired and what they paid in 2013.

There is no time for the labor market to heal if we cut support to the unemployed while doing little to foster growth domestically.  In essence, we are creating a new normal, one that keeps pace with less developed economies rather than setting the pace for others to follow.
